Express Is Coming to Queensland: Meet the Woman Making It Happen
We sat down with Janine Bradley, Regional Manager for South East Queensland, to talk about what it means to be launching something brand new and why she could not be more excited about it.
Not many people get handed the opportunity to build something from the ground up. Janine Bradley is three weeks into doing exactly that.
As the Regional Manager for Express Employment Professionals’ first South East Queensland office, Janine is on the ground, meeting businesses, building relationships, and establishing what she is determined will become the number one territory in the network. We caught up with her to find out what the role looks like day to day, what she is seeing in the Queensland market, and what drives her to do what she does.
Starting From Scratch in a Brand New Market
Queensland is new territory for Express, literally. “QLD is a brand-new area for the company, which is very exciting as we are opening our first office in South East QLD,” Janine says. “I am honoured to be given the privilege to get it up and running and looking forward to making it number 1!”
Three weeks in, the momentum is already building. Janine has been focused on the north side of Brisbane, spending her mornings on the road, knocking on doors, introducing herself to businesses, and listening to what they need. “I’ve been seeing a steady increase of engagement and job orders across a variety of industries,” she says. “From here I will soon venture down to the southside before heading into the western suburbs.”
The plan is ambitious: four territories, a growing team, and a brand strong enough to speak for itself. But for Janine, the most satisfying milestone so far has been a simple one. “Signing up our first couple of clients where we hope to have people ready to commence this week!!”
What the Queensland Market Looks Like Right Now
Janine’s early read on the Queensland market is that demand is real and the need for quality is acute. Manufacturing, warehousing, and transport are the core sectors keeping her busy, and businesses are coming to Express for a specific reason.
“The lack of quality job seekers responding to Seek adverts means companies are keen to engage our expertise in both attracting and retaining the employees they need to help their business succeed,” she says. It is a pattern familiar to anyone working in recruitment right now, high application volumes, but a frustrating gap between who applies and who is actually right for the role. That gap is precisely where Express steps in.
A Day in the Life of a Regional Manager
Janine’s days are full and deliberately structured. She is on the road early, meeting potential clients face to face before returning to the office to follow up, updating the CRM, and sending out quotes. The team huddles, one in the morning, one in the afternoon, keep everyone connected and accountable.
“We have a team huddle at 8.45am to discuss our goals for the day and discuss how we can assist one another,” she says. “Then making follow up calls to recent contacts, eventually getting back into the office to enter the morning’s information into our CRM and send out any quotes required before we catch up again for our afternoon huddle to share our achievements or challenges with one another.”
It is a rhythm built around relationships, with clients, with candidates, and with her own team.
What Sets Express Apart
Ask Janine what Express means to the businesses and candidates she works with, and her answer is immediate: “People who listen, take the time to learn about their business or career aspirations, and who are genuinely keen to help, keeping them well informed along the way.”
And what sets the team apart from the competition? “30 years’ experience, dedication, quality processes, and a smile.”
That combination of experience and warmth runs through everything Janine describes about her work. The goal, as she puts it, is matching the right person to the right job and having them still working there ten years later. “I’ve got a couple of these success stories,” she says. “Such feel good moments. Candidates often become clients and in some cases clients end up becoming candidates. I’m lucky enough to have met a lot of wonderful people along the way and still doing repeat business many years on. Truly blessed and love what I do every day!”
What’s Next for Queensland
Janine does not hide her excitement about what the next twelve months hold. “So much, I can’t stop thinking about it!” she says. “Building four territories to the point where we can employ more people and therefore help more businesses and job seekers, proving ourselves by reputation and growing a strong brand which we can all be super proud of!”
For businesses and job seekers in Queensland, that is great news. Express is here, it is growing, and Janine’s advice for anyone thinking about getting in touch is simple: “Give us a call. We’d love to have a chat about how we can help!”
